Visual Inspiration: Ethereal part 2

First off, please excuse the delay between posts, it's been a crazy week. Second, I would like to apologize for my lack of eloquence. I'm sitting here drinking a hot chocolate(missing my boyfriend desperately), staring at my screen, and I just can't seem to find the right words to describe the pictures in this post. They are amazing, awe-inspiring, fantastical, beautiful, magical, and just gorgeous!
Some of my favorite ethereal photos come from Ukrainian photographer Oleg Oprisco. See more of his photos after the jump.

Visual Inspiration: Ethereal part 1

Perhaps I'm influenced from my life as a ballerina, but I am constantly inspired by(and obsessed with) photographs of an ethereal nature. And I'm definitely not the only one! Fashion has been influenced by the ethereal beauty of such sources as Ballets, Fairytales, and Myths for centuries; artists and photographers have been attempting to capture the celestial essence for just as long. And for good reason. The ethereal quality in art transports you to a whole other world.

I love these photographs. Looking at them makes me want to put on my pointe shoes, a flowing dress and dance to music by Yann Tiersen. I will be doing another post featuring my favorite ethereal photographers very soon, so stay tuned!

Oceanas Pacificas

Good morning world! I thought I would do a quick post before I head off to rehearsal. I've had such a crazy week! On Wednesday my mom and I went down to Northridge to help my little sister move back for the summer. Let me tell you something, carrying a bike that it is the same size as you down 3 flights of stairs is no easy task. Afterward, I got to see my boyfriend, John, for a few hours. We went to a pub called The Tipsy Goat, and enjoyed a nice dinner before I had to head back home(long-distance relationships suck!)

I managed to snap a few pictures on the drive down south. Despite the miserable weather we've been having here in Cali, the Pacific Ocean looked absolutely gorgeous!

On Thursday, my sis and I took a quick drive up the coast to San Luis Obispo(of Oprah fame, a.k.a. SLO), to do some shopping and wander around Farmer's Market. We met up with our friend Robin and had a late night dinner at one of my favorite cafes(darn it all I didn't take any pictures!). All in all it was a good day, and Friday was all business with rehearsal and Summer Dance auditions. Alas, I am now late for rehearsal. Have a great day folks!

Really? Junderpants?

I discovered a most disturbing new "trend" in the faux jeans market: JUNDERPANTS(shudders). I've provided a link to the original article for those of you brave enough to witness the horror!
CAUTION: The viewing of Junderpants may cause nausea, temporary blindness, bleeding from the eye sockets, hallucinations, mild to severe brain damage, postpartum depression, possible amnesia, and in most cases a loss of faith in all mankind.

Mix Tape

I spent a good part of my day doing some late spring cleaning/dancing like a fool. Since I am a dancer, music is a huge part of my life. I need a soundtrack for everything I do. So, I thought I would share my playlist for today's activities. It has plenty of up-beat songs to keep you energized for a day of cleaning, but it isn't too distracting if you're studying. It also makes a great workout mix!

Pornstar Potter

I just finished reading the May issue of NYLON magazine. In this issue, the folks over at NYLON decided to show some of their favorite YouTube videos on every page. The last page(which featured an array of some pretty unique glasses), brought me to this hilarious video of Alexa Chung interviewing Daniel Radcliffe. Yes, I'm a couple years behind, but it's funny nonetheless.
Now, didn't you enjoy that? And Daniel seems like a really fun guy. I know I'd have a blast hanging out with him.

XOXO?

This past Monday night, I did something I thought I would never do. I watched an episode of Gossip Girl. Now, I've never been into teenage drama shows, especially when it involves spoiled rich kids(I mean really? What are they complaining about?). Add in the fact that I am nearly 5 seasons behind, and you have one confused and annoyed chick. So, I wasn't really surprised that the T.V. phenomenon didn't intrigue me. What did catch my interest were the amazing clothes worn throughout the show.
I absolutely swooned when I saw the gowns worn by Blair and Serena. They were magnificent! The casual wear was equally gorgeous, and even the leading gentlemen had their own savvy style. And, while the intense plot and riveting dialogue do not interest me in one bit, who knows? I may start watching the show just for the fashion.
